BERD is one of the TOP 3 World Leaders in the field of bridge construction methods and solutions. Born in 2006, as a spin-off of the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University, we already participated in the construction of more than 20 bridges and viaducts in 5 continents. In 2016 we launched a new Business Unit, the Modular Bridge Solutions, that already supplied more than 150 Modular Bridges. Always focused on innovation, we are also working on a new R&D disruptive project.

BERD is committed to investigate, develop and apply state-of-the-art solutions for bridge construction with the best engineers.

Our history

Born in 2006, as a spin-off of the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University, BERD is an engineering company offering innovative solutions on bridge construction methods, bridge construction equipment and modular bridge solutions, among others.

A short but intensive existence allowed us to participate in the construction of more than 20 bridges and viaducts in 5 continents using a broad range of equipment such as Launching Gantries, Movable Scaffolding Systems, etc. which pushed the limits and established a new state of art.

In 2016 we launched a new Business Unit, MBS, that provides modular bridge solutions for clear spans up to 120m/394ft around the world.
